Sunshine Coast Museums
There are several Sunshine Coast Museums, The Sunshine Coast Museum and Archives is located in Gibsons Landing, just across from the post office. You will find amazing artifacts and the history of Gibsons Landing.
There is the tems swiya (Our World) Museum in Sechelt, across from the hospital on Hwy 101 The museum collects and displays artifacts and documents the history of the Sechelt Nation. Sometimes they have local native art exhibits as well.
In Powell River there are two museums, the Powell River Historical Museum is located across from beautiful Willingdon Beach on Marine Avenue. They have fabulous displays, artifacts and photos that will give you a sense of 'days gone by'. Powell River Forestry Museum is also located on Marine Avenue and has a visual history of logging and forestry in the Powell River area.
Texada Island has its own museum as well. Located in Blubber Bay right as you leave the BC Ferry terminal. It is truly a wonderful little museum documenting the gold rushes, mining and fires that have occured on the island in the last 150 years.
Sunshine Coast Mountain Biking
Mountain Biking is a great Sunshine Coast Things to Do and there is a dedicated mountain bike park (Sprockids Park) located at the top of the Gibsons By Pass as you leave the ferry terminal. Once at the top of the hill, take a right and then a left at the T intersection. There is a dirt parking lot on your left. There are trails as well as the park which has dirt jumps, teeter totters, drops and bridges. The trails range from beginner to intermediate and are marked for ease of navigation.

Sunshine Coast Hiking
There are many trails for hiking and taking expiditions on the Sunshine Coast. Skookumchuck Narrows Provincial Park in Egmont offers a beautiful hike through some of the most beautiful west coast forest settings to be found, and there is a bakery in the woods for you to stop for a coffee and a treat! Once at the end of this easy hike you will have the treat of seeing the famous Skookumchuck. Check tide tables for the best viewing times.
Hidden Grove, located in Sechelt offers you the chance to see old growth firs and cedars up close and personal. A true sight for the eyes. These trees are breath taking! This is a 30 minute hike, easy and good for the whole family. The Hidden Grove is located on the Tuwanuk side of Porpoise Bay and is past Porpoise Bay Provincial Park. Watch for the signs, they will be on your right.
Soames Hill is a landmark in Gibsons Landing, you access the trail from Marine Drive and it is straight up from there! It takes about 40 minutes to reach the top, but once you get there the views are amazing.
Sunshine Coast Diving

Soames Point in Gibsons Harbour is a popular spot to paraglide as well as Mt. Elphinstone. The views are awesome, overlooking the Straight of Georgia and the inland coastal waters.
