October on the Beautiful Sunshine Coast has arrived! This newsletter will bring you up to date on events and business announcements for the upcoming months. SMITTYS OYSTER HOUSE!! - A NEW restaurant is about to make it presence known in lower Gibsons. Expected to open mid October, Smittys will be dishing up some delictable oyster treats for your enjoyment. Located in Lower Gibsons, below Mollys Reach on the sea walk, you will find a very chic oyster bar!

GIBSONS FALL FAIR - October 6 - Craft fair, quilting contenst, baking contests, sunflower contests and a whole lot more. The perfect family outing. Gibsons Fall Fair is being held in the Greenhouse at Quality Farm and Garden 325 Pratt Road. The fair starts at 10am.

SECHELT HARVEST FAIR - October 6 - Seaside Center, Sechelt. Fom 9am - 1pm you can see some great cooking demo's, browse the Farmers Market, and sign up for the Great Pumpkin contest. A great family event.

GRAND OPENING - FIBRE WORKS GALLERY - October 6 - 12889 Sunshine Coast Hwy, Madeira Park. Come and enjoy the grand opening of Pender Harbours newest gallery. Exhibitions of work from local artists will be featured.

RIVERS DAY SALMON FESTIVAL - October 13 - Chapman Creek Fish Hatchery, Wilson Creek. This is a 30th Anniversary Celebration not to be missed. Tour the hatchery, see salmon spawning and check out the displays. The festival runs from 10am - 3pm.

KODALY STRING QUARTET - October 21 - Raven's Cry Theatre, Sechelt. This quartet has made international appearances for over 4 decades! The Kodaly String Quartet is from Hungary and this is a must see performance. Presented by the Coast Recital Society. Tix $25 adults, $10 students.

MURPHY'S LAGH - October 26 - Grasshopper Pub, Pender Harbour. Sarah Fitzpatrick & Damian brennan make up this fiddle and guitar duo. You won't be disappointed, show starts at 8pm.
