We are also considering a move to the sunshine coast. My main concern is my 5 year old Autistic son. And was wondering if anyone had advise on which schools may be recommended to look at on sunshine coast.

Moving to the Sunshine Coast - BC by: Anonymous
You will do just fine. We were transplants 20 yrs ago and had no trouble finding something to do in the community. Our kids hated to move here (first yr. of high school)... now they'd hate to leave.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

Come for a visit, you'll never leave by: McClusky
Hi
Trying to live on the coast has its ups and downs. Seasonal rainfall is abundant. Forest dwelling hillbillies drive around at night on old logging roads looking for abonded cars. Lighting them on fire. I'm sure you've witnessed some of these burnt leftovers in the bush.
So bring your family. We'd love to have you for a barbecue.

Moving to the Sunshine Coast and becoming part of a new community. by: Anonymous
Hi, Tracey here (Admin). Thanks for the question about moving to the Sunshine Coast.
It is an amazing life style change from living in Vancouver or the suburbs. You wouldn't regret it.
As for fitting in as a local, as with any smaller community, this takes time. Perhaps 20 years ago it was a little more difficult to fit in here on the coast if you were new, however in the last 10 years there has been a surge of new residents, and it is very easy to blend into the communities.
If you get involved in groups, events, and activities, your circle of friends will grow even quicker.
So, while the urban legend of shunning new comers still exists, it is not really the case. I know you would feel welcome by the local residents.
